That's Relativity
by Peter Vogelaar
2nd Prize and Sculptors' Choice
Canadian Open Sand Sculpture Championships
 Parksville, BC, Canada
2005

In honour of the 100th anniversary of Einstein's developing his theory of relativity, Peter carved Einstein in sand.

The piece was inspired by a delightfully light quote, "Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, it feels like an hour; spend an hour with a lovely woman and it seems like a minute. That's Relativity!"

Peter was delighted to win the 2nd Prize and Sculptors' Choice awards at the 6th Canadian Open Sand Sculpture Championships, held in Parksville, BC.

First place in the solo division went to that talented guy from Cleveland, Carl Jara! Jeff Strong from Tacoma, WA was third.
