The Dragon is Dead
by Peter Vogelaar
1st Prize and Peoples' Choice
Solo Event at l'International de Sable
Quebec City, PQ, Canada
August 2005

The Dragon is Dead - 11.5' tall; 12 tons of sand.

Peter once again pushed hard and stacked the tallest piece in the contest. Aside from some small collapse problems with the arms, the piece went well and Peter was able to use every scrap of sand, right down to the asphalt parking lot.

The strong expression on the warrior's face was very well received by the audience.

Joohang from Singapore won 2nd prize and Artists' choice. Jan Selen from Holland won third prize.
