Wild
and Woolly Awards: Within the specified theme, The Spirit of Canada, we came up with our depictions of wilderness, wildlife and hockey, along with the togetherness of 13 provinces and territories holding hands around the 18' maple leaf. This is the largest block we have ever carved (over 43 tons). |

Peter, Jules and Denis worked very hard in the allotted 43 hours of carving time, and really wished it was 45. As evidenced by our award, it was a hit with the crowds, and just fell short of the judges' awards because of poor finishing on the hockey goalie. We were given an unusual Honourable Mention for the deeply undercut and spectacular trees in our landscape.
