Carl and John worked with
prisms and lenses to create a magical tree that stands over 10 feet (3m)
tall. It was awarded the silver medal in the single-block abstract category.
The lenses were so true that Carl was able to get wood burning by focusing
the sunlight to a small circle. It certainly was strange using ice to make
