Jack Frost Children's Fest Charlottetown, PEI, Canada, 2005 |
|
| Our team is very pleased to have been selected as the chief designers and builders of the first Jack Frost Snow Kingdom. | |
|
In a space of 12 days we built a snow and ice castle with 1300 sq ft (130 sq m) of space, a 3600 sq ft maze with over 700 feet of walls, a giant Dragon slide, where participants lined up for almost an hour to whoosh through the slippery pipe and out his mouth, and finally, a mini-golf course from snow and ice. |
| We were
fortunate to have the assistance of two sculptors from Sarnia, Ian and
Ash, as well as the Gallants from Summerside, PEI.
As well, we had a crew of hired helpers from PEI, and numerous volunteers. (Special thanks to Roger and Shane.)

It was almost a washout when we had warm winds and rain the night before opening, but luckily it all held together until the weather went back to sub-zero for the weekend. The organizers were delighted to have their festival sell out days ahead of opening, and are already planning for Year 2. We hope to be there, too.
